Non-Interconnected Municipalities of Colombia
One of the latest projects that Vive Solar is working on is the creation of a photovoltaic network for non-interconnected municipalities in Colombia, where the electricity supply of those towns (some of them 8,000 and 10,000 inhabitants) is currently supplied with fossil fuels 24 hours a day.
The initiative that we carry out has the objective and commitment to reduce the consumption of diesel (fossil energy) between 65% and 70% based on the consumption data that we have been provided of recent years in a first phase. Later on, it is intended that 100% of the energy comes from renewable sources, as well as being able to take advantage of organic waste, wood waste and green waste to generate said energy.
This solution closes a circle based on the circular economy of generation, energy management and waste recovery through pyrolysis.
In this way, we are fulfilling a government desire to solve the sustainable and self-sufficient energy viability of the non-interconnected municipalities of Colombia. Generating added value with the management and recovery of urban waste.
